Overview

What we need
This Registration of Interest (ROI) is issued by Scion to identify and shortlist suitable suppliers to participate in a Request for Proposal (RFP) process. Scion is wanting suppliers to provide software solutions for new phone apps (both Android and iOS) and databases that support biosecurity surveillance by the primary sectors and general public.

What’s important to us
Each participant must meet all of the Preconditions listed in Section 3.2 of the ROI Response Template. Participants who are unable to meet all Preconditions in full should conclude that they will not benefit from submitting a Registration.

A bit about us
Scion is a New Zealand Crown Research Institute (CRI) that specialises in research, science and technology development for the forestry, wood product and wood-derived materials and other biomaterial sectors.

Our purpose is to drive innovation and growth from these sectors to build economic value and contribute to beneficial environmental and social outcomes for New Zealand.

We achieve our purpose through providing research, technology and knowledge in partnership with industry, government and Maori stakeholders.

Scion employs approximately 400 staff dispersed over four sites but with the bulk of the staff are based on the Rotorua campus. Staff consist of permanent, part-time or temporary employees and are either salary (330) or hourly wage earners (30). Scion also engages with contractors, students and visitors on each of its sites.
