Sport New Zealand (Sport NZ) is planning to emulate the Affordable Sports Facilities Initiative developed and successfully implemented by Sport England over the past decade. Sport NZ shares Sport England’s commitment to support local government, sports organisations and other parties in planning, design, procuring, constructing and operating more affordable sports facilities. Sport England has developed considerable intellectual property over the past decade and is willing to share this with Sport NZ. Sport NZ intends to adopt much of this resource and adapt it to New Zealand conditions.
Sport NZ's goal is to deliver a greater proportion of facilities that are more affordable, efficient and effective in delivering more sporting opportunities for New Zealanders.
Sport NZ is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from parties who would like to be considered for involvement in the Affordable Facilities Initiative.
