Overview

For Southlanders, water facilities such as boat ramps, wharfs, jetties and navigation aids enable both recreational and commercial access to waterways.

Southland District Council (SDC) is seeking experienced and capable contractors with proven track records to complete remedial maintenance and refurbishment works on the T-Wharf and SDC owned section of the Long Wharf in Riverton Harbour.

The proposed works aim to extend the life of the wharfs, ensuring they remain safe and serviceable for future use. The project includes replacement or remediation of structural key timber components, replacement of bolted connections, pile cap augmentation and minor preventative maintenance.

Southland District Council is seeking suitably experienced contractors with demonstrated capability to carry out the scope of works, apply appropriate methodology and meet all quality assurance requirements. They will need to be capable of managing the challenges associated with carrying out this work in a harbour environment, with a strong focus on site safety and environmental management. Southland District Council is looking for credible contractors that have the capability, experience and infrastructure management skill set to complete the wharf refurbishment works.
