Southland District Council are progressing with phase 1 of the Taramea Bay works which include upgrading the walking track, post and rope fencing, installation of netting fencing and other works as described around the the Pilot Reserve area, as well as preparation for phase 2 works which are not yet finalised. This package of work is a significant investment in the Taramea Bay area and is being undertaken to encourage a widespread use and enjoyment of the entire bay area.
