Quarry Road substation detailed design. The substation development will include a 33 kV switchboard, one 33/11 kV 5 MVA transformer and an 11 kV switchboard.
The site will be designed to accommodate a second supply transformer.
The design for this substation was substantially completed, and the project was put on hold. The bulk of the civil and structural design, as well as the primary design, is expected to be used as far as practicable. Tenderers should be aware that PowerNet’s secondary and protection design requirements have undergone significant changes since the previous design was completed.
The substation design includes the following:
• Bus the Halfway Bus-Palmerston 1 and 2 feeders at Quarry Road
• One 33 kV/11 kV, 3.5/5 MVA ONAN/ONAF, OLTC transformer
• Relocation of the ripple control from TPT Palmerston 110/33
• 33 kV and 11 kV points of connection for the mobile substation
• Substation civil works, including site grading, fencing and earth grid
• Communications mast
• New switch room
• New 11 kV Feeder cabling
