Overview

Palmerston North City Council (PNCC) invites proposals for the delivery of pest animal and invasive plant control services across its forest reserves within the Tararua Ranges. The appointed supplier will play a key role in protecting ecologically significant areas, enhancing biodiversity, and maintaining the long-term health and resilience of these environments for current and future communities. Respondents are expected to demonstrate strong experience and local knowledge of the Tararua Ranges, including familiarity with its terrain, weather patterns, ecosystems, and recreational use by the public.

PNCC is seeking a supplier with the capability, capacity, and experience to deliver large-scale, efficient pest animal and invasive plant control programmes across our forests. We want to partner with a supplier who understands pest species behavior and ecology, and who can apply innovative, adaptive solutions when standard methods are no longer effective

The proposed contract will be for an initial term of three (3) years, with the option to extend for up to two (2) additional one-year periods. Through this engagement, PNCC seeks to partner with an experienced provider to strengthen and further develop its pest and plant management framework, building on existing knowledge and delivering sustained ecological outcomes.
