Palmerston North City Council invite Registrations of Interest (ROI) from experienced engineering construction companies wishing to submit a tender for their Road Maintenance, Renewal and Capital Improvement Services contract. Only companies or consortia that hold current Waka Kotahi Prequalification to 1A (Routine Works), 2A (surfacing) and 4A (Construction), will be eligible to tender.
The Council is currently finalising their procurement strategy for the renewal of their road maintenance contracts. A procurement process is planned to commence in October 2020, with the contract expected to commence in July 2021
The network consists of: 567 km of sealed roads and 35 km of unsealed roads. The contract will include general pavement maintenance, routine street maintenance, maintenance of street lights, traffic signals, pavement marking, footpaths renewal, minor bridge repairs and emergency works, as well as pavement renewal and re-sealing work and a range of minor capital works including local road improvements, new cycleway construction and network, pedestrian and active transport safety projects.
The initial tenure will be 3 years, with two contract extensions of 3 years each provided for.
The works will be carried out under a traditional (measure and value) delivery model, with selected performance elements as well as asset data, programme planning, smart and real-time reporting and customer query management and resolution deliverables.
