Re-issue of Request for Proposals - Supply of Sterile Surgical Gloves

On 30 June 2016 PHARMAC issued the RFP (as defined above) on GETS. The RFP stated that single-use sterile surgical gloves ("sterile surgical gloves") must meet the specifications of AS/NZS 4179:2014.

Since issuing the RFP, PHARMAC has received clinical advice that whilst it is recommended that sterile surgical gloves should meet the specifications of AS/NZS 4179:2014; this may not be considered a mandatory requirement.

As a result of the receipt of this clinical advice, PHARMAC is re-issuing the RFP to allow suppliers whose products do not meet the specifications of AS/NZS 4179:2014 but which meet other relevant specifications, to submit proposals.

Please note that suppliers who have already submitted proposals to the RFP are not required to submit a response to the re-issued RFP and PHARMAC will re-evaluate those proposals who did not meet the specifications of AS/NZS 4179:2014 in that respect only. In this event suppliers may provide PHARMAC with any other relevant specifications to be evaluated for their products by the deadline stated below.

In accordance with the above parameters PHARMAC invites proposals for the supply of sterile surgical gloves to District Health Board hospitals in New Zealand ("DHBs").

This request for proposals (RFP) letter incorporates the following schedules:

- Schedule 1 sets out the background to the RFP, description of the proposals sought, and details the scope of this RFP;
- Schedule 2 describes the process that PHARMAC expects to follow in relation to the RFP; and
- Schedule 3 specifies the information a supplier needs to include with its proposal.

All proposals must be submitted to PHARMAC via the New Zealand Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) no later than 5.00 p.m. on Thursday 15 December 2016.
