Overview
Porirua City Council requires an experienced contractor to replace the culvert at 6 Paekākāriki Hill Road, Pāuatahanui. Replacing it will address long-standing drainage issues at the site and help reduce flooding along the road.
The site has a flowing stream and high groundwater. It sits on a narrow, live road that must stay open, close to live services including a gas main, water and telecommunications. Nearby residents, businesses (including the Lighthouse Cinema) and a school need access throughout construction.
The chosen supplier should be well versed in drainage construction, temporary traffic management, health and safety, and risk management and mitigation.
