The resilience of Paekakariki Hill Road is hampered by both stormwater runoff and stream scour resulting in slips and erosion of the hillside below the road. Several retaining structures have been constructed to protect the road however there has been continued erosion around the structures.
The project involves constructing additional retaining structures to support the road and protect from further scour.
