Overview

Oranga Tamariki is looking for an experienced, qualified and approved partner to provide a shared care service that delivers safe, effective, and responsive care solutions in the Taranaki-Manawatū. The service will provide care and wraparound support for tamariki and rangatahi with complex and multi-layered needs.  The care response will be delivered from a home in the Palmerston North or surrounding Manawatū area and will support Tamariki and rangatahi with complex and specialist needs including disability, neurodiversity and/or mental health needs.

Successful providers will be able to demonstrate not only capability, experience, and capacity but most importantly a child centred, trauma informed and culturally responsive model of care to listen to and deliver outcomes with the tamariki and rangatahi in care. The service will operate within a collaborative service delivery model that supports equitable outcomes and reflects the diverse needs of children, families, whānau, and communities. Providers do not need to be based in the Taranaki Manawatū region but must be able to lead, coordinate and deliver services there.

There will be a briefing session on Thursday 5 November 2026 at 10.30. This will be an opportunity for respondents to hear more about the service requirements and ask questions about our requirements and procurement process.

Interested respondents are encouraged to register their attendance by emailing Social Services Procurement socialservicesprocurement@ot.govt.nz.  Attendees of the briefing session will be asked to maintain confidentiality throughout the procurement process regardless of whether they submit a tender response. Any questions about the procurement material or process other than about the briefing session must go through the GETS Question and Answer facility to support the fairness and integrity of the process.

We look forward to receiving responses from providers committed to delivering high-quality, mana-enhancing care and support for tamariki and rangatahi.
