Overview

Oranga Tamariki wishes to select a suitable roster and time sheet tool and engage with an experienced roster tool solution implementation partner, including consultancy advice for optimising rosters and workforce management. The Rostering tool solution is for the Youth Justice and Secure Care & Protection (YJ&CP) residences. While the initial focus will be YJ&CP, the same solution must be capable of being leveraged for other Oranga Tamariki office sites/work environments.
We operate secure Care and Protection residences and Youth Justice residences (Residences) at nine locations in New Zealand both in the North and South islands. Approximately 1100 staff work across these sites on a variety of rosters ranging from standard business hours to those which cover 24 hours a day. These Residences have a mixed workforce which includes permanent (full time and part time), casual and agency staff, all who have different employment rules to support the different resourcing requirements at different times of the day.

We are looking for a rostering tool to improve our rostering practices to:
• become more operationally efficient through staffing to demand and removing manual processing and duplication
• Ensure legislative compliance through ensuring shift breaks, rest breaks and overtime is adhered to
• Improve employee satisfaction through better scheduling, notification, cover etc
• Increase cost savings through better management of the complete workforce, including reducing overtime and casual costs
