Oranga Tamariki—Ministry for Children (Oranga Tamariki) will shortly be going to market to run an open competitive tender for the delivery of Youth Justice remand care homes in the following locations:

• Auckland
• Tauranga
• Hamilton
• Huntly

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a suitable provider/collaboration who can demonstrate the required capability, capacity and experience to run a remand care home within the specified location/s above.

Critical to this service is an understanding of client need and the ability to deliver a rangatahi-centred service. We are looking for provider/s to deliver a service that is consistent with the social, cultural and spiritual values of the rangatahi that are remanded into care subject to a custody order under the chief executive of Oranga Tamariki, an iwi social service or a cultural service. It is envisaged that rangatahi will be assisted to further develop their cultural identity and their links to Māori, Pacific and other cultural groups.

What’s next?
We anticipate publishing the Request for Proposals (RFP) on the Government Electronic Tenders Service (GETS) in late November 2018. Proposals will be accepted from new and established providers for delivery of this service.
