Overview

The Queenstown Lakes District remains the fastest growing District in New Zealand. As the number of people living, working, and visiting the district grows, the demand for accessibility, mobility and general movement throughout the area will increase significantly, making transport a critical issue into the future.

In light of this, the Otago Regional Council (ORC) is undertaking a review of the public transport services in the Wakatipu Basin. As part of this review, the ORC seeks suitably qualified persons/agency to undertake the Business Case and network service review processes.

The project involves the development and preparation of the NZTA required Strategic, Programme, Indicative, and Detailed Business Cases. It requires following the NZTA process to undertake Investment Logic Mapping (ILM) Workshops and preparation of the Business Case documentation.

Once the barriers to public transport are adequately defined, the successful candidate will work closely with ORC staff, with inputs from key stakeholders, to undertake a review of the Wakatipu Basin public transport services, network, and facilities. The review seeks to develop integrated public transport services that meet the travel demand requirements in the Wakatipu Basin for the foreseeable future.
