Overview

The Better By Procurement team is part of the NZTE Services group.

The purpose of the team is to help New Zealand based customers increase their win rate in large contracts, government procurement and complex supply chains, in New Zealand and internationally.

To achieve this, the team offers a range of services including:
1) Supplier capability building services:
a. “Assessing Tender Responses” benchmarking service.
b. A “tender writing resource centre” located on the supplier section of the www.procurement.govt.nz website.
c. “Developing Tendering Capability” (this RFP) - Training workshops to support capability building in international tendering for complex supply chains and government procurement. This is the natural progression for customers from the “Assessing Tender Responses” service.

2) Access to projects and opportunities in the above sectors.
3) Access to the Industry Capability Network, ProjectLink, Asia Development Bank and World Bank opportunities.

The purpose of this RFP process is to appoint a number of independent, internationally capable Training Providers to a panel (for example 2-3) to carry out training workshops across New Zealand for NZTE customers with a focus on success in formalised buying and tendering situations in complex supply chains and government procurement.
The training is expected to cover:
a. Tendering for international opportunities in complex supply chains and government procurement.
b. Post tender follow-up.
c. Business development and pitching where it relates to tendering.

General business capability for example business strategy, business design, governance, pricing and financials, IT systems and processes, innovation are outside the scope of this service. Negotiating contracts is also currently out of scope.
