UPDATE 30/10/2014 - B2B PROJECT INCLUDES RELOCATION OF THE RAILWAY LINE ADJACENT TO THE PROJECT. THIS WORK IS TO BE CARRIED OUT UNDER A SEPARATE ENABLING WORKS PACKAGE, AND DOES NOT FORM PART OF THE SCOPE FOR THIS TENDER.
The Baypark to Bayfair Link Upgrade will ease congestion between SH2/SH29 (Te Maunga) & SH2 Maunganui-Girven Road (MGI) intersections with grade separation of SH29 over SH2 at Te Maunga intersection & a 2 lane flyover at the Maunganui-Girven Road Intersection.

Procurement for the work will be carried out within a Design & Construct delivery model. The scope of professional services for the upcoming Request for Tender is expected to consist of:
Design Phase
a) Develop a Specimen Design & Project Documentation (SD & PD) for the B2B Link Upgrade Project. The Specimen Design will include scope
elements that are to be developed to full Detailed Design level, including:
- Geometric design
- Pavement design
- Traffic modelling
b) Fulfil the duties required as Principal’s Advisor for NZTA
Construction Phase - Provisional
c) Provide resources and act as the Principal’s Agent to carry out Monitoring, Surveillance & Quality Assurance (MSQA) throughout the Construction Phase.
Registrations of interest are requested from professional services teams who can demonstrate experience in designing major roading & bridging infrastructure projects and acting as Principal’s Advisor to the Client, in a collaborative manner, on a similar scale to the B2B project.
The Design & Construct delivery model is described in NZ Transport Agency Procurement Manual (available from the www.nzta.govt.nz website) and the contract will be procured under a competitive process.
