NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) invites Registration of Interest (ROI) for the Southern Corridor Improvements (SCI) Project from contractors who hold NZTA prequalification levels 3A and 4A and with experience in the delivery of large infrastructure projects using the D&C procurement model.
The Works will be carried out under NZTA’s D&C procurement model.
The project is part of the Auckland Accelerated Programme, which also comprises the Northern Corridor Improvement Project, East West Connection and Airport Access.
The accelerated nature of this project has resulted in the exact scope definition being subject to change at this point in the process; however the project scope is likely to include some or all of the following:
a) Upgrading existing SH1 motorway between SH1 / SH20 link at Manukau and Papakura Interchange: optimising the traffic flow lane balance by providing additional general purpose traffic lanes on the motorway and improvements to the Takanini Interchange.
b) Modifications to the existing structures along the route and widening of the causeway section at Pahurehure Inlet to accommodate the additional traffic lanes.
c) Improvements to the existing east-west cycling facility on Great South Road through Takanini Interchange and the potential provision of a new pedestrian / cycle connection from Papakura Interchange to Takanini Interchange.
The Works shall include the development of the final design for construction, securing the necessary approvals and permits and supply of all Labour, Materials and Plant for the construction of the project to the prescribed standards and conditions.
It is envisaged that the D&C contract will be awarded in mid-2015 with project completion being in early 2018 subject to statutory approvals and property access.
NZTA reserves the right to shortlist applicants through a Statement of Interest and Ability (SIA) process if the number parties makes this necessary.
Final Tendering of the contract will be by invitation to contractors registered through this ROI process and shortlisted through the SIA (if necessary); the tender will not be re-advertised publicly.
ROI Submissions close at 4:00pm on Friday 26th September 2014 with the Tenders Secretary thus please submit a single A4 page letter advising your company/consortium and contact details to the jo-ann.moses@nzta.govt.nz.
