This is a Physical Works contract for the delivery of 2026/2027 Contestable Works – Package 4 Central Waikato, West Waikato and Bay of Plenty. The works involve pavement rehabilitation and associated works across six state highway sites on SH30, SH32 and SH2, grouped into three separable portions covering West Waikato, Central Waikato and Bay of Plenty. The works are required to support the ongoing safety, reliability and performance of the state highway network.
The Contract Works comprise of:
- pavement rehabilitation works across six state highway sites on SH30, SH32 and SH2;
- pavement excavation, rehabilitation and reconstruction;
- granular overlay and basecourse replacement;
- surfacing, road marking reinstatement, shoulder improvements and pavement tie-ins;
- drainage and stormwater improvements where required;
- temporary traffic management;
- environmental and erosion controls;
- protection of existing services and highway assets;
- quality assurance, testing and completion records; and
- stakeholder and customer liaison during construction.
Tenderers will need to demonstrate that they understand the requirements of the RFT and can provide the necessary people, plant, methodology, resources and commitment to successfully deliver the Contract Works. This is particularly important as the works are spread across multiple locations, some sites may need to be delivered within the same construction period, and the contractor will need to manage programme sequencing, constrained state highway corridors, traffic impacts, private accesses, existing services and affected stakeholders.
The works are expected to start from October 2026, with completion required by 26 February 2027.
Electronic copies of the RFT documentation are attached to this advertisement.
