This Notice of Information (NOI) – Advance Notice is to provide early information ahead of the Ashhurst Shared Use Path (SUP) Physical Works Request for Tenders (RFT), which is currently anticipated to be released in July 2026.

This notice is provided as an early indication only of the service scope and procurement approach and will not form part of any future tender or contract documentation.

This is NOT the commencement of a tender process or a registration of interest to tender.

Background
NZTA is delivering the Ashhurst Shared Use Path (SUP), this project will deliver a new walking and cycling connection, including a bridge over the Manawatū River, linking Ashhurst to the wider SUP network. The section covered by this procurement is from Cambridge Avenue in Ashhurst to the TAaT western roundabout.

The physical works will be delivered under a traditional construct only contract, with NZTA providing a fully completed detailed design. This approach is intended to reduce risk, improve pricing certainty, and support value for money outcomes.

Scope of works
The contractor will construct the new pedestrian/cyclist bridge, the approach paths, and ancillary works in
line with the detailed design issued by NZTA. This includes:
• Fabrication erection of all structural elements.
• Construction of abutments/piers and river span.
• Installation of safety railing/fences and finishing works.
• Implementation of temporary works as required
• Integration of the completed bridge with the approach paths and civil works
• Quality assurance and compliance with all NZTA specifications and consent conditions.
• Pavement and surfacing
