NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) advises the market that a procurement opportunity relating to the establishment of NZTA’s Supplier Directory (Physical Works) will be released on GETS in the coming weeks.
This notice is issued as a pre-release market notification only and is intended to provide early visibility to suppliers. It does not constitute a Request for Tender (RFT) or a formal procurement process at this stage. The primary procurement process will focus on gathering and evaluating information through a Request for Tender with a focus on the NZTA Physical Works Prequalification framework. Through this procurement process, NZTA will be asking the following:
• Suppliers to confirm through their Tender response whether their current pre-qualification information is up to date and accurate
• Suppliers will have the ability through their Tender response to submit updated information if their current pre-qualification information is outdated
• Suppliers that do not currently have pre-qualification status for Physical Works with NZTA will have the ability to submit all relevant information as part of their Tender response
The forthcoming opportunity will invite suppliers to participate in an open primary procurement process to establish the NZTA Supplier Directory for physical works suppliers. The Directory will operate as a national panel of suppliers (with regional capability included) that NZTA may use to undertake future secondary procurement processes for relevant physical works.
Only suppliers that are successful in being listed on the Directory through execution of a Directory Agreement with NZTA will be eligible to participate in future secondary procurement opportunities that are sourced from the Directory.
Further details, including procurement documentation and instructions for responding will be provided when the RFT is released on GETS. There will also be two supplier briefings on the following dates:
• 25th March 2026 (online)
• 1st April 2026 (online)
