This is a Physical Works contract to provide access to Ngākōroa Station when it
opens in late 2026. Tender briefing scheduled Monday 20 October 2025 1:30 pm (RFT Section 1.18)
The Contract Works comprise of:
This Contract is for the upgrade and signalisation of SH22 and Jesmond Road intersection. The scope includes
a) Four arm signalised intersection
b) Three approach lanes on SH22 arms comprising shared 1 x through and left lane, 1 x
through lane and 1 x right turn pocket
c) Two approach lanes and a single departure lane on rail station access arm
d) Single approach lane and a single departure lane on Jesmond Road arm as additional lanes will require land acquisition outside the existing road reserve
e) Limit lines on rail station and Jesmond Road approaches are set back to allow for the right turn movements from SH22 to operate simultaneously
f) Due to the restricted space available, no pedestrian facilities or crossings have been
included
g) Traffic signal poles are expected to be provided within the shoulders
h) Pavement design for required road widening will match existing pavement configuration
In accordance with the Prequalification for Physical Works, this Contract has been classified as
Construction – Level 4C ($5M - $20M). Tenderers are reminded that under the terms of the
Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System, only those prequalified to
Construction - Level 4C are eligible to submit a tender.

All tender communications are to be submitted through the GETS Questions and Answers portal.
All responses to tender questions/clarifications will be answered by Notice to Tenderer which will be available in the GETS addenda. This excludes “commercial in confidence’ tender questions/clarifications; responses will be answered by Notice to Specific Tenderer.
Tender submissions shall be uploaded to GETS eTender box in two separate files.
The GETS file upload limit is 50MB. The files should be labelled:

- File 2 – 12933 – Contractor Name - Price (pdf format PLUS excel spreadsheet Schedule of Prices)
