This is a Physical Works contract for
SH36 Hauraki Stream Culvert Replacement
• Hauraki Stream Culvert on SH36 in the Bay of Plenty is approximately 8km north of Rotorua and a key route for forestry and tourism with daily traffic of 2,851 vehicle per day with 14% heavy commercial vehicles. The project is to replace a deteriorated culvert located in a steep gully with a new single span bridge as part of the NZTA End of Life Bridges Programme.
The Contract Works comprise of:
• The Construction methodology is bored intersecting concrete piles to form the bridge abutments and a top down construction of the single span bridge in 2 halves so as to retain State highway access throughout.
• Construct new access track and remove existing culvert and embankment structures.
• Reconfigure existing
• Sequence and manage live SH traffic through the site during construction
• Completed adjacent property access reconfiguration works including new driveways and barrier installation.
In accordance with NZTA Prequalification for Physical Works, this Contract has been classified as “Bridge Construction – Level C (3B)” and “Construction – Level C (4B)”. Tenderers are reminded that under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System, only those prequalified to “Bridge Construction – Level C (3B)” and “Construction – Level C (4B)” are eligible to submit a tender.

All tender communications are to be submitted through the GETS Questions and Answers portal.
All responses to tender questions/clarifications will be answered by Notice to Tenderer which will be available in the GETS addenda.
Tender submissions shall be uploaded to GETS eTender box in two separate files.
The GETS file upload limit is 50MB. The files should be labelled:

- File 2 – 12991 – Contractor Name - Price (pdf format PLUS excel spreadsheet Schedule of Prices)
