This is a Physical Works contract for construction of the SH1/Waitārere Beach roundabout. This project forms part of the enabling works for the Ōtaki to North Levin project (O2NL). The O2NL
programme of works aims to improve safety and resilience of the Ōtaki to North Levin transport corridor as well as planning to increase transport choice for the area’s growing population. NZTA is
working with Horowhenua District Council (HDC) to bring forward the Waitārere Beach roundabout design and construction ahead of the O2NL project construction programme.
The Contract Works comprise of:
· Temporary Traffic Management
· Site clearance and topsoil stripping
· Road pavement construction
· Pavement surfacing
· Line markings
· Traffic islands
· Cycle path
· Road signage
· Services relocation
· Lighting
· Landscaping
· Stormwater improvements
Only tenderers that have been short listed under the ‘Central North Island Speed and Infrastructure Programme Physical Works (Including Resilience and Low Cost/Low Risk Contract (Number 8895)
dated June 2023 are invited to submit tenders for the delivery of this work package.

All tender communications are to be submitted through the GETS Questions and Answers portal.
All responses to tender questions/clarifications will be answered by Notice to Tenderer which will be available in the GETS addenda.
Tender submissions shall be uploaded to GETS eTender box in two separate files.
The GETS file upload limit is 50MB. The files should be labelled:
- File 1 – CN 12312 – Contractor Name - Proposal excluding Price
- File 2 – CN 12312 – Contractor Name - Price (pdf format PLUS excel spreadsheet Schedule of Prices)
