The NZ Upgrade Programme (NZUP) Ōtaki to North of Levin (Ō2NL) project is the northernmost section of the Wellington Northern Corridor. It is an upgraded 24km four-lane corridor through existing rural, residential, lifestyle areas and greenfield sites and includes a separated shared pathway for walking and cycling along the full length of the new highway.
The Ō2NL Project is being developed though a Project Partnership of Waka Kotahi, Muaūpoko Tribal Authority and Ngā Hapū of Ngāti Raukawa ki te Tonga along with council partner Horowhenua District Council (HDC).
The project will improve the safety and resilience of the transport network between Ōtaki and north of Levin, support regional growth and deliver important outcomes for the wider community and keep people safe and connected. The project is committed to delivering a positive legacy through a series of legacy outcomes and to achieve a sector shift in key areas.
Further to the previous Expression of Interest process, Waka Kotahi and project partners are now looking to select two separate consortia of designers and constructors who have the vision, experience, capacity, understanding, and commitment to deliver outstanding outcomes on the Ō2NL project to participate in a Project Alliance.
Only Proponents pre-qualified to Bridge Construction – Level A (3A), and Construction – Level A (4A), under the terms of the Waka Kotahi Prequalification System, will be eligible to participate in this procurement process, and to submit a Proposal.
Only Proponents that can demonstrate compliance with the prequalification requirements, will be provided with further project information via GETS, including Request for Proposal documentation, and responses to proposal queries.
In this regard, all enquiries are to be clearly labelled “Ō2NL - Request for Proposals” and shall be provided to tenders@resolvegroup.co.nz, along with evidence of compliance with the prequalification requirements noted above and no later than Tuesday 10 October 2023.
The request for proposal Proposals will close via GETS at 4pm, Thursday 16 November 2023.
Waka Kotahi reserves the right to withdraw from the procurement process (including the Request for Proposals) at any time without notice before entering into the Contract. If Waka Kotahi withdraws from the procurement process, then no RFP Proponent shall have any claim for compensation or otherwise against Waka Kotahi.
