The NZUP South Auckland Package (SAP) investment consists of transport network improvements including road safety improvements, urbanisation measures, public transport enhancements and active mode development. The SAP will be delivered as a programme of works consisting of several individual projects to support and achieve the objectives. These projects include:
a) Mill Road
b) Waihoehoe Road
c) SH22 Urbanisation
d) Paerata Roundabout
The Waihoehoe Road Upgrade project works consist of two signalised intersections, a new bridge over the North Island Main Trunk rail corridor and utility mains relocation. This project is adjacent to the proposed Drury Central Rail Station and -will provide the main access to the rail station and associated park and ride facilities.
Work has been undertaken for Waihoehoe Road Upgrade project to refine the concept design and develop the integration where it interfaces with other projects and/or developments in the immediate vicinity. In particular, the interface with the proposed rail station in Drury and supporting infrastructure being delivered by KiwiRail and/or Auckland Transport has been considered to understand the relationship and dynamic between the projects, their respective land requirements (and designations) and their approach to technical elements such as stormwater management.
Waka Kotahi wishes to advise interested parties of its intention to go to market to procure a consultant for the completion of the pre-implementation professional services and for the surveillance and quality assurance aspects during the implementation phase. It is planned that the RFP will be released on GETS on 13th March 2023 however it is subject to change.
In support of this advance notice to the market, further information on the project is provided in the attachment and an RFP industry briefing has been tentatively scheduled for Thursday 2 March 2023 at 10am via Teams. Parties interested in attending the briefing are required to email the Procurement Process Manager: Marice Jackson at marice@connectil.co.nz before or on 1 March 2023. The email should include the names of the attendees and their respective email addresses. Attendance is restricted to two persons per organisation.
