The enabling works for the Hairini Link Stage 4 project includes the construction of a new Baden Powell Hall at Welcome Bay, as a separate contract. Construction is based on detailed construction documentation and is planned to commence in mid December 2014 and must be completed by end May 2015.

The works will consist of:

• the construction of a single storey building, 270m2 in size, including:
o Ribraft concrete floor slab
o One steel portal frame structure and timber frame GIB wall systems
o Titan Board external cladding
o Profiled metal roofing on timber rafters
o Internal Gib with painted finish walls and timber doors
o Kitchen and ablution facilities
o Services to all

• carparking for 15 vehicles;

• earthworks consisting of approximately 400m3 imported fill and 150m3 disposal off site

• landscaping

Request for Tender documentation, based on lowest price conforming evaluation method, is planned to be issued by 22 August 2014. The tender period will be 4 weeks. The lowest price conforming evaluation process is described in NZ Transport Agency Procurement Manual (available from the www.nzta.govt.nz website) and the contract will be procured under a competitive process.

Registrations are requested from main contractors who can demonstrate experience in the delivery buildings of this scale.
