Overview

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency invites Registration of Interest (ROI) from pre-qualified teams of designers and contractors, who will form design and construction consortia to tender for the Auckland Harbour Bridge (AHB) Shared Path project. The ROI will be accepted from design and construction consortia who are prequalified to ‘Bridge Construction – Level 3A’ and ‘Construction – Level 4A’ and have experience in the design and delivery of complex concrete and steel girder bridge projects of a similar scale and nature to the AHB Shared Path project.

The AHB Shared Path structure will be located along the eastern side of the existing AHB adjacent to the State Highway 1 southbound lanes. It will have a minimum width of five metres and an approximate length of 1.2km between Westhaven Marina, across the harbour, to Northcote Point. This scope will take into consideration the further work and planning required to confirm the connection with the SeaPath project.

The Works will primarily involve the fabrication and erection of a new separate steel box girder structure, steel columns, steel pier brackets and strengthening of the existing AHB concrete piers. The walking and cycling structure will follow the shape, form and alignment of the existing bridge.

The Works will be carried out under an Early Contractor Involvement Hybrid Alliance delivery model.

The ROI submissions are to be uploaded to the GETS e-tender box.

If more than two prequalified consortia register, then the Transport Agency reserves the right to shortlist applications through a Statement of Intent and Ability (SIA) process.

The SIA (if required) and Request for Proposals (RFP) process will be by invitation to consortia registered through this ROI process and shortlisted through the SIA process (if necessary).

It is expected two Proponents will proceed into the RFP process to determine the Preferred Proponent.

The SIA process (if required) would be completed by the end of January 2020 and RFP process completed by Mid 2020. Subject to funding approval, physical works are targeted to start at the end of 2020.

This ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter, in response to this advertisement, advising the individual companies in the consortia, and details of your assigned point of contact.

ROI submissions are to be sent to Jo-Ann.Moses@nzta.govt.nz before 2:00pm on 11 November 2019 and must clearly reference the Transport Agency contract NZTA-2079.
