The NZ Transport Agency & Safe Roads invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from contractors to tender for the Level Crossings Upgrade – Waikato.
Below are the sites that could form all or part of the tender. This tender is for the civil construction works only - the track & signalling scope will be delivered by KiwiRail. The indicative value for all sites is $2.5M & will be refined in the IFT.
Site 1 SH26 Piako Road - Track upgrade (Strail) signal improvements, pavement construction, modifications to median islands, signs & markings. A Block of Line is scheduled 8-9 Sept19.
Site 2 SH27 Burwood Road - Track upgrade (Edilon slab) signal improvements, level crossing widening, installation of median island, signs & markings. A Block of Line is scheduled 11-13 May19.
Site 3 SH29 Hinuera - Track upgrade (Strail) driveway reconstruction, signs & markings. A Block of Line is scheduled 8-10 Jun19.
Site 4 SH27 Waitoa - Signalling improvements including the installation half arm barriers, road signs & markings. Programme to be agreed with the Engineer but indicatively scheduled for completion end Aug19.
Site 5 SH27 Waharoa - Signal improvements, signs & markings. Indicative completion end of Aug19.
Site 6 Pohlen Rd Waharoa (SH27) - Road widening, widening of level crossing, signal improvements, signs & markings. Indicative completion by end Oct19.
Site 7 SH24 Broadway - Pedestrian crossing upgrades, installing concrete mazes, fencing, veloStrail track surfacing, signal improvements, modifications to median islands, signs & markings. Indicative completion by end Oct19
Sites not requiring a Block of Line (site # 4-7) are to be programmed by agreement with the Engineer with all sites completed by 22 Nov19.
The lead Contractor must hold prequalification at least NZTA Construction Level 4A & KiwiRail Civil 2.
The Contractor must also achieve prequalification at least NZTA Surfacing Level 2B & KiwiRail Track 3 but may sub-contract out to achieve one, but not both, of these.
The ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter advising:
• company name(s)
• contact details
• pre-qualification status
ROI submissions will only be accepted electronically via the GETS eTender box.
Safe Roads will be in contact with registered contractors to discuss the inclusion of all or part of the sites in the tender.
The tender will be by invitation to registered contractors only and will not be advertised publicly. The tender will be LPC with a pass/fail for non-price attributes.
