Registration of Interest : SH6 Taramakau Road Bridge – Physical Works
The NZ Transport Agency invites Registrations of Interest (ROI) from Contractors/consortia wishing to tender their services to undertake the SH6 Taramakau Road Bridge physical works.
The project consists of approximately 1.3km of two lane road realignment located 15 km south of Greymouth and 3.5 km north of Kumara junction on State Highway 6. It includes a new bridge over the Taramakau River, a Road Overpass over Rail and provision of off-road facilities for pedestrians and cyclists. It also includes the removal of the ‘temporary’ clip-on structure from the existing bridge, removal of redundant Chorus infrastructure and the removal of the road decking timbers from the existing bridge.
The NZ Transport Agency’s overall project objectives are to improve deficiencies associated with the existing alignment and shared road/rail bridge structure crossing the Taramakau River. The Hokitika railway line will remain on the existing shared bridge, with the new structures providing for separation of all modes of traffic, improving both safety and efficiency. The project is a NZ Transport Agency Regionally Accelerated project. The Engineer’s Estimate for the works is in the order of $25 Million, with an expected physical works programme of two years.
Full tender documents will be released on 9 August 2016 only to those who have registered, with an inception meeting and site visit on 11 August 2016. The inception meeting will be held at the Kumara Hotel starting at 10.30am, followed by a site visit. A maximum of three people per tendering party will be permitted at the inception meeting and site visit. Tender award is expected in late October / early November 2016. Tendering parties are required to be pre-qualified for level 3A (bridge construction) and 4A (construction).
ROI are welcomed from Contractors with experience in the delivery of similar projects, in particular in working in river and rail environments.
ROI submissions close at 4.00 pm on Friday 5th August 2016, requiring a single page letter, in response to this advertisement, advising company/consortium and contact details. Written ROI’s are to be lodged with: christchurchtenders@nzta.govt.nz.
