Description:
1. NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) invites Registration of Interest (ROI) from pre-qualified and experienced contractors wishing to tender for the Whirokino Trestle and Manawatu River Bridge project.
2. The Works will be carried out under NZTA’s Design and Construct (D&C) procurement model.
3. The Whirokino Trestle and Manawatu River Bridge project will improve the resilience and efficiency of this section of SH1, provide HPMV capacity across both bridges, and improve safety for all users of SH1.
4. The works include the construction of two separate bridges, earthworks in the order of 250,000 cubic metres, demolition of the two existing bridges and an overall expected construction estimate of approximately $50M.
5. The works include the development of the final design for construction, securing the necessary approvals and permits, supply of all labour materials and plant for the construction of the project to the prescribed standards and conditions.
6. It is envisaged that the D&C contract will be awarded in December 2016.
7. ROI are welcomed from contractors who hold both NZTA prequalification levels of 3A and 4A and with experience in the delivery of large infrastructure projects using the D&C procurement model of a similar scale to the Whirokino Trestle and Manawatu River Bridge project.
8. ROI submission closes at 4:00pm on Friday 18 March 2016.
9. ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter, in response to this advertisement, advising company/consortium and contact details, and identifying all key subcontractors and consultants.
10. NZTA reserves the right to shortlist applicants through a Statement of Interest and Ability (SIA) process if the number of registered parties makes this necessary.
11. Final Tendering of the contract will be by invitation to contractors registered through this ROI process and shortlisted through the SIA (if necessary); the tender will not be re-advertised publicly.
