1. NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) invites Registration of Interest (ROI) from pre-qualified and experienced contractors wishing to tender for the SH16 Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade project.
2. The Works will to be carried out under NZTA’s Lump Sum (LS) procurement model.
3. The project is the final part of the Western Ring Route, a Road of National Significance (RoNS). The Western Ring Route involves other work packages including the SH20 Waterview Tunnels and Great North Road Interchange, SH16 Causeway Upgrade, SH16 St Lukes Interchange Improvements, SH16 Te Atatu Interchange Upgrade and SH16 Lincoln Road Interchange Improvements.
4. This project area includes works on approximately 2.9km of the existing SH16 between Lincoln Road and Westgate.
5. The Works include widening the existing 2 lanes to 3 lanes in each direction, bus shoulder lanes in both directions, new shared use path adjacent to the northbound carriageway, upgrading the Lincoln Road northbound on-ramp, upgrading the Royal Road on and off ramps, replacement of 3 existing bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, surfacing, and all ancillary works.

7. The Works also includes securing the necessary additional approvals and permits and supply of all Labour, Materials and Plant for the construction of the project to the prescribed standards and conditions.
8. It is envisaged that the LS contract will be awarded in mid-2016, with physical works commencing soon after and completion in early 2019.
9. ROI are welcomed from contractors who hold NZTA prequalification levels of Surfacing - 2A, Bridge Construction – 3A and Construction - 4A and with experience in the delivery of large infrastructure projects of a similar scale to the SH16 Lincoln to Westgate Upgrade project.
10. ROI submission closes at 4:00pm on Wednesday, 16 December 2015.
11. ROI involves submitting a single A4 page letter, in response to this advertisement, advising company/consortium and contact details to our Regional Tenders Secretary, at TENDERS.AKL&NLD@NZTA.GOVT.NZ
12. Tendering of the contract will be by invitation to contractors registered through this ROI process and the tender will not be re-advertised publicly.
