The NZ Transport Agency’s Baypark to Bayfair Project requires the relocation of KiwiRail’s East Coast Main Truck railway line (ECMT), currently running parallel to SH2, in order to accommodate space for state highway improvements.
The enabling works for the rail relocation is split into 3 main components.
1. Embankment and noise wall construction with service relocation works
2. Laying new rail ballast and track – (not included in this contract)
3. Installing new signals and commissioning – (not included in this contract)
Registrations of interest are requested from contractors who can demonstrate experience in earthworks, drainage, coordination of service relocations and concrete noise wall construction. Preference would be given to those contractors who can demonstrate working as part of large infrastructure projects within urban environments, working in a collaborative manner with the local community and meet the prequalification requirements.
There will be 2 prequalification requirements to be eligible to submit a tender for this physical works contract;-
• Pre-qualification to “Construction – Level A” under the terms of the Highways and Network Operations (HNO) Prequalification System, and;
• Pre-qualification by KiwiRail for civil works to levels Tier 1 and Tier 2.
