Overview

The NZTA seeks proposals to supply and implement a National Incident and Event Management System (NIEMS) to provide logging and management capability for disruptions to the various transport network modes that are governed in New Zealand by the Agency. This national system will replace the relevant functionality currently provided by various regional legacy applications.

The purpose of the system is to:

• Facilitate more consistent responses to network disruptions, known as Incidents (unplanned disruptions) and
Events (planned disruptions)
• Capture a consistent set of data for the various disruption types
• Facilitate faster and more efficient responses to disruption notifications, to enable better health and traffic flow outcomes
• Enable appropriate messaging to stakeholders, including travellers
