Overview

The supply of New Zealand Post’s (NZ Post’s) existing security arrangements has been in place since 2012. In recent years delays in going to market have been experienced primarily due to NZ Post’s split away from Kiwibank, and the unusually high level of change and growth within NZ Post’s physical operational network. The latter saw the merging of Post and courier activity and management to combined sites, and the move to larger sites due to parcel volume growth.

Whilst change and growth within the network are continuing, the split away from Kiwibank is largely complete, and it is now appropriate that we review our security supply arrangements.
Reviewing of our security supply arrangements is also timely now given our current initiatives to network (link and centrally manage) our alarm, access, and CCTV systems.

To this end it is the intention of NZ Post to issue an open multi stage RFP for Security Related Products and Services to Respondents that have successfully completed and passed this Prequalification phase.

NZ Post is committed to Social Procurement and engaging with Social Enterprises. This procurement process will help identify Respondents who engage with the local community and look to provide employment for locals within the community as well as engagement with Maori and Pasifika where practicable.
