We need a LC-MS instrument with high specification performance in targeted biomarker analysis to enable the accurate measurement of metabolites with a range of functional chemistries, including short chain fatty acids and neurotransmitters in human and animal samples for nutritional studies focused on gut and cognitive function; and phytohormones including gibberellins and brassinosteroids in a range of plant systems to help to understand their role in controlling the regulation and development of plants.
