Earth Sciences New Zealand is seeking to procure a fully managed reprographics solution under the All-of-Government (AoG) Print Technology and Associated Services (PTAS) contract. The initial requirement (Phase 1) covers the replacement of ESNZ’s leased multifunction devices located at the Avalon, Gracefield, Featherston, Dunedin and Wairakei sites, and the ongoing support, maintenance, calibration, and consumables management for all existing ESNZ large‑format plotters.
Print security and access control must be delivered through both FOB-based and Secure Access Card user authentication and “follow-me” print capability, allowing staff to send print jobs to a universal queue and release them securely at any authorised device.
The future requirement (Phase 2) covers the transition of the remaining ESNZ‑owned multifunction devices to a fully managed OPEX (lease) model as those devices reach end of life. These devices were previously held under legacy organisational asset structures but are now managed as ESNZ assets. Future transitions will also incorporate MetService device fleets once MetService is fully merged into ESNZ.

Earth Sciences New Zealand has completed a secondary procurement under the All‑of‑Government Print Technology and Associated Services (PTAS) framework for reprographics services.
Following evaluation against the published criteria, Canon New Zealand Limited has been selected as the preferred supplier. The decision reflects an overall value‑for‑money assessment, with a focus on delivery confidence, transition certainty, and cost transparency for Phase 1.
The contract will be established via an AoG PTAS Statement of Work (SoW).
