Fire and Emergency New Zealand intend to issue a tender for an experienced and suitably qualified construction supplier to carry out seismic strengthening and ablutions refurbishment and alteration works at the Gisborne fire station to provide a safe and fit for purpose facility.
The scope of works will include:
• Seismic Strengthening: Upgrade structural integrity and resilience to ≥ 34% NBS IL4.
• Ablution Facilities Upgrade: Upgrade and modify the ablutions and communal facilities to support personnel needs, including accommodating 10 bedrooms
• Improved Station Functionality: Reconfiguring internal layouts to support two-crew operations
• Health and Safety Risk Mitigation: Implement transitional zoning for carcinogen control.
Our intention is to issue the tender via the Government Electronic Tender Service (GETS) around August 2025.
