The Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) currently has 18 Hazmat/Command Vehicles deployed nationally. These vehicles provide internet access options via fixed wire, wireless (802.11), cellular and satellite as they are available.
The satellite hardware units currently fitted to 18 Hazmat/Command vehicles:
• iNetVu 980 Mobile Satellite Dish
• 7000b Satellite controller
• IPX-5100 Modem
In addition, there are 8 fixed IPstar installation plus another that has not yet been installed.
