The New Zealand Fire Service Commission will invite Registration's of Interest (ROI) from Registered Master Builders to refurbish the Newtown Fire Station 318 Mansfield Street, Newtown, Wellington to meet the operational needs of the fire district. The project includes the structural upgrades and re-programming of Newtown Station by relocating sleeping and living quarters into a currently underutilized gym and store. It includes a new kitchen, kitchenette, WC’s and portal canopy extension to the appliance bay and a new floor and wall finishes required in most areas. Replacing existing roofing materials and windows are a part of works. Extensive plumbing and electrical required. Exterior work includes new sliding electric security fence, patio with privacy screen to living area and low planters to public entrance. It is expected that construction will commence in July 2015
