This Registration of Interest (ROI) is requested for Defence Property Group (DPG) Northern Roading Projects 2016 for a slip repair and various pavement repair and resurfacing works estimated 20,000m2. This includes area wide pavement treatment (AWPT) repair and rehabilitation, slip repair with timber pole retaining wall, new carpark construction, footpath repair and new construction, drainage extension and the safety improvements at four New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) bases - Whenuapai Air Base, Devonport Naval Base, Papakura Military Camp and Whangaparoa Tamaki Leadership Centre in Auckland as follows:
1 Tamaki Leadership Centre (TLC) Whangaparoa - Road slip remediation and pavement rehabilitation and resurfacing of Main Access Road, Carpark Road and Accommodation Road
2 Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) Whenuapai Air Base - Pavement repair and resurfacing related works at Air Movement Carpark, Airside Transition, A5047 ESS and minor dig-out repair of failed pavement on main road and footpath repair as agreed and confirmed by NZDF.
3 Naval Base South Yard, Devonport – Pavement repair and resurfacing of Boiler Shop East Road and Philomel Parade Ground (To be confirmed by NZDF to suit the availability of the budget)
4 Papakura Military Camp (PMC) - Pavement repair and resurfacing of Duigan and Young Streets and the affected other roads and extension of NA9 carpark (new construction)
Geotechnical investigation of the pavement and the slip and the contaminated soil sampling and testing has already been carried out. The detailed design for individual projects are being currently carried out by NZDF’s Consultants AECOM. Necessary building consent is being lodged for the timber pole retaining wall to be constructed for the slip repair in Whangaparoa.
Briefly, the physical works include:
• Earthworks
• CCTV of existing services where necessary
• Installation of timber pole retaining wall
• Kerb and channel, swale, rock lined channel - repair and renewal
• Stormwater and drainage extension with new pipes, manhole, catchpit and sub-soil drainage including necessary treatment and retention as per the design
• Footpath repair and renewal
• Area wide pavement treatment (AWPT) either with unbound granular or modified using cement stabilised pavement construction
• Asphalt concrete pavement construction and chip sealing
• Installation of signs and marking as safety improvement
