To deliver our 2025/26 internal audit programme, Customs requires an external provider to complete four targeted assurance reviews. These reviews are part of our risk-based assurance plan; however, limited in-house capacity means we cannot complete them internally. This opportunity has been made possible following Executive approval of an additional $100,000 for assurance activity in late November 2025.

Two of the reviews will be focused on activities managed by the People & Capability part of the business covering (a) overtime and (b) recruitment. The other two will focus in on Finance, covering (a) financial controls and (b) expense claims. These reviews will provide independent assurance over key operational and financial controls, identifying gaps and highlighting opportunities for improvement.

All work must be completed by 30 June 2026 within a total budget cap of $100,000 (excl. GST and AoG fees). This is a closed secondary procurement via the All-of-Government (AoG) Consultancy Services Agreement. The compressed timeframe is due to additional funding being confirmed in late November 2025.
