The New Zealand Customs Service ('Customs') is seeking information from suppliers on potential solutions to digitalise the maintenance of the Tariff of New Zealand.

The Tariff is a very large, highly technical, goods classification document - a bit like the Dewey classification system for libraries - and includes annual rates of duty for imported and some domestic goods. The Tariff is published as a hard copy document and online, which is currently managed via Excel spreadsheets and PDF files.

The purpose of this ROI is for Customs to gain an understanding of the potential range of solutions, technology and products or services that may be available. The information gained during this process is intended to inform a formal closed RFP to be issued on GETS.

NOTE: This ROI published on 11/03/24 at 2.30P under GETS Ref ID: 28993395, it was erroneously cancelled in the system, and we had to republish it today under a new GETS Ref ID, hence the open date is today. All other dates remain unchanged.
