The New Zealand Customs Service (NZCS) as part of their commitment to securing New Zealand’s borders holds and examines goods that are considered to be a risk to those borders. Sea containers are a part of the various import and export streams and, are held and examined by NZCS personnel on a regular basis. The unpacking and repacking of sea containers held for examination is currently undertaken by NZCS personnel. The NZCS views unpack and repack of sea containers as a function that could be undertaken by industry providers that have the skills and expertise to perform the work.
The outsourcing of labour for unpack and repack of sea containers is seen as a desirable outcome that will allow for efficiency gains for the NZCS.
At this stage we are looking for contactors who can provide this service in the Auckland ports area.
