Description
The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Affairs (MFAT) is inviting Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Suppliers to supply, install and commission a complete new airfield ground lighting (AGL) and navigational aids at Munda Airport, West Georgia, in the Solomon Islands. Works include, but are not limited to, the following: Airfield Ground Lighting
A complete new AGL installation is required to allow Munda to be certified for Emergency Alternative Status (EAS), for Honiara Airfield.
This includes the following:
1) Runway, Taxiway and Apron AGL System;
2) Simple Approach Lighting System (SALS) both runway ends;
3) Precision Approach Path Indicators (PAPI) Systems on both runway ends;
4) New Apron Flood lighting towers;
5) Solar powered obstruction lighting units;
6) An Airfield Electrical Equipment Room (AEER);
7) An Aerodrome Beacon assembly;
8) A Diesel Generator facility;
9) A new pit and duct system for cable reticulation;
10) All AGL units to be fitted with LED fixtures;
11) Operations and Maintenance manuals and spare parts provision; and
12) Operational training.
Air Navigation Aids
The new Air Navigation Aids includes:
1) Non-Directional Beacon (NDB);
2) New Automatic Weather Station (AWS);
3) New Air Traffic Control (ATC) radio installations;
4) All new systems are to be reticulated into the AEER;
5) Operations and Maintenance manuals and spare parts provision; and
6) Operational training.
Commissioning
In addition to the usual commissioning requirements for AGL and navigational aids installations, there will be a requirement for an aircraft test flight for calibration and certification purposes.
