• One year, part-time assignment up to 40 days (includes two 10-days missions in country) with possible further two-year extension

The New Zealand Government is a member of the Tuvalu Trust Fund (TTF) Board. The TTF is a sovereign wealth fund which works to progress the economic and social development of Tuvalu. The TTF receives expert advice from its Advisory Committee (TTFAC), which comprises members funded by the governments of New Zealand, Australia and Tuvalu. The TTF Advisor provides information to the Government of Tuvalu (GoT) and TTF Board, to support sound decisions concerning the performance and management of the TTF, analysis of the Tuvalu economy, and public finances.
The purpose of the TTF is to contribute to the long-term financial viability of Tuvalu by helping GoT to:
• Achieve financial autonomy in the management of its recurrent budget
• Enable the Government to maintain and improve existing levels of social infrastructure and services
• Enhance the capacity of the Government to receive and effectively utilise external capital development and technical assistance
• Enable the Government to meet long-term maintenance and operating costs of social and economic infrastructure and services
• Assist the Government to develop the economy of Tuvalu
