Northland Regional Council (NRC) is seeking proposals to deliver Stage 2 of the Northland region‑wide Delft‑FEWS flood forecasting system.
Following Cyclone Gabrielle in 2023, NRC received central government funding to improve regional flood resilience. In 2024–2025, NRC implemented a Delft‑FEWS Early Flood Warning System Pilot for the Waitangi Catchment. This project will expand that pilot into a fully integrated, operational, region‑wide forecasting system.

NRC is seeking a vendor with proven experience in New Zealand flood forecasting and Delft‑FEWS implementation. An independent peer reviewer will provide technical oversight throughout the project.
