To achieve a fast, efficient, and targeted rollout of farm advisory services over a large area and the subsequent implementation of site-based remediation projects within the KMR and NRC Rohe. The agencies require an indicative inventory of wetland features to guide prioritisation for catchment and wetland remediation (e.g.via fencing and planting) and provide for the implementation of national and regional planning provisions for wetlands (primarily under the NPS-FW).
The existing wetland datasets are non-comprehensive, inaccurate and at poor resolution. KMR requires an up-to-date layer of wetlands over 500 m2 in size to allow project delivery to assist and fund landowners to meet national regulations. Previous attempts using methods around remote sensing have failed to provide the accuracy and spatial resolution required for this purpose. As such, this RfP uses methods based on higher-resolution aerial and photography techniques.
