Northland Inc- Website Design and Development RFP

Northland Inc Ltd (NInc) is a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO) and a limited liability company. The organisation is an economic development agency (EDA) and incorporates the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for Northland. In addition to the tourism and business support areas of the business, the website also supports the publishing of corporate information for Northland Inc and its workstreams.

Our current website is built on Silverstripe 3.7.3 and from Sept 2021 this version will no longer be supported by Silverstripe. An upgrade to Silverstripe version 4.7 requires an almost complete re-build of the site. The site also uses a proprietary system to manage Tourism Operator listings via an API from the Tourism New Zealand website. The current version of this system is also no longer supported by the current provider and requires an upgrade to a new system. Therefore, we are taking this opportunity to review the design and development of the site, rather than just rebuilding like for like.

Thus this RFP is seeking a supplier to:
● Review and simplify the current site architecture based on sound usability principles and customer journey mapping.
● Refresh the website design to apply Northland Inc brand colours in a more contemporary and engaging way. The overall feel should be that Northland has stunning locations with friendly and approachable people. It’s a warm, welcoming place both to visit and do business. We seek to inspire and
support our community to develop innovative opportunities for investment and growth.
● Build a new website on a current, open-source content management system.

The budget for the website design and development project is $75K - $85K (Excl GST)
