Overview

Napier City Council (“NCC”) is seeking to undertake upgrade works on the existing sewer discharge infrastructure associated with the pump station discharge main.
The project is intended to improve the functionality and operational performance of the existing arrangement through modification of the discharge line and installation of new flow metering-related components. The existing meter is redundant and will remain in place.
The works will be undertaken in and around existing live infrastructure, requiring a delivery approach that is well planned, coordinated, and responsive to operational constraints. The interface with the existing pump station and discharge main is a key consideration for the project. NCC will carry out the required pump station shutdown and start-up activities, while the Successful Respondent will be required to programme and coordinate the works to suit those activities and any associated shutdown requirements.
NCC will free issue a number of key items for incorporation into the works, including the flow meter, isolation valve, steel specials #1 and #8, and 4 x DN600 universal couplers. These items are to be collected from the NCC depot by the Successful Respondent and incorporated into the works in accordance with the contract documents.
Electrical works required to support completion of the installation form part of the project. Telemetry is excluded from the contract scope.
This background information is provided to give context to the project. The specific obligations of the Successful Respondent are set out in the Scope of Works, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
