Overview

This RFT relates to the engagement of a competent Contractor to facilitate construction of a pontoon jetty and gangway.

This project is the first stage of the Ahuriri Waka hub project that seeks the permanent mooring site for the ocean faring waka Te Matua a Maui on land adjacent to the Napier sailing club. The completed project will see the construction of a community and educational amenities hub along with a new 40m long pontoon capable of mooring to waka Hourua at a time that is secure from public access. The final component will be to establish a high amenity outdoor public space to support both the waka hub and the Napier sailing club.

In summary, the Scope of Work includes:
• Construction of the 40m long prefabricated concrete pontoon, associated piles, concrete abutment, security entry gate and aluminium gangway.
• This includes dredging of the vessel berthing area
• Working with the Principal and its appointed consultants to adhere to key constraints including:
o management of Kororā nesting in the proximity of the works
o Resource Consent Conditions
